Crimes of Passion

April 3, 2012

In the spring of 2009 nearly 50 of Bristol’s best known and most successful graffiti and street artists invaded the city’s oldest and grandest gallery, the Royal West Of England Academy (RWA).  It was a brave gamble allowing the art to be spray directly onto the walls of the Academy, but a gamble that paid of as record numbers attended and it was hailed as the show of the year.

Here’s a little reminder of what it was all about.

Dicy Solo Show @ King of Paint

April 2, 2012

Friday night saw the opening of Dicy’s solo show at the King of Paint.  Unfortunately we couldn’t make it on the Friday, but it would seem that it was a good and busy night.

We did drop by to take in the show on Saturday and it would seem that Dicy has really pushed himself for this one.  The collection of new work is stunning and it was good to see some dots scattered around the gallery.  The show is on in  conjnction with launch of a signed and numbered, limited edition publication by Dicy called ‘Wall to Wall’, a celebration of Dicy’s works on cnavas from 1998 to 2011.

All round a thoroughly enjoyable feast of abstract colourism for the eyes.  Drop in and check it out if you’re out and about down town, you won’t regret it.  The show is on until the 21st April, more information at www.kopgallery.com
